GOLD STAR MONUMENT

About the

Originally unveiled in 2022, the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument was created to provide a place of permanence for Norco’s Gold Star Families to gather and call their own. This monument belongs to them and their fallen loved ones, and this monument demonstrates that the community cares for them, appreciates their sacrifice, and honors the ultimate sacrifice of their loved ones. The monument’s plaza overlook pays respect to both gold and blue star families by featuring three illuminated stars—one gold star flanked by two blue stars—and a bench specifically for Norco’s blue star families. The monument is personal to Norco, as it includes unique community photos on the four granite panels on the west side of the monument. The monument was created through a partnership with the Woody Williams Foundation and embodies the pillars of Homeland, Family, Patriot, Sacrifice and Legacy.
